Tawas Point Lighthouse

Tawas Point Lighthouse

Built in 1876, the Tawas Point Lighthouse marked the entry to Tawas Bay and warned mariners away from the shallow waters of Tawas Point.  Today it is operated as a museum and historic site by the Michigan History Center.

High water levels in Tawas Bay and Lake Huron and the COVID-19 pandemic will prevent the lighthouse from opening to the public for the 2020 season. However, you can still take a little bit of Tawas Point home here at our online shop.
